Lori Shirley - East Director

I am the Director at Grand Beginnings East. I graduated from IUP in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development/Family Relations. I live in Homer City with my husband, Todd, and our children, Eric and Beth. Grand Beginnings is so much more than just my job, it is my passion. I cannot imagine myself anywhere else. The children are what makes my job so special. When I see their smiling faces or I see them finally accomplish something they have been working on, I can’t help but smile. Please feel free to call and set up a tour to see our Center. I believe that open communication between parents, teachers and directors is so important. My door is always open to you.

Amanda Chunkala - West Director

Hello! My name is Amanda Chunkala and I am the Director at Grand Beginnings West! I graduated from IUP in 2015, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development/Family Relations and a Minor in Sociology. I currently reside in Penn Run with my husband Joe, our son Liam and our pets Rylee, Cabela and Sydney. I have been with Grand Beginnings 10 years and I just love it here! The atmosphere is so fun to be in and seeing the children learn and grow is my absolute favorite part of every day! Over the years I have formed so many close connections as your child’s teacher, and now I will continue to form new ones in my role as director.
